Lead & Copper Rule Revision - Service Line Inventory

Per the newly revised state and federal regulations, Manville is required to have a thorough inventory and catalog of all service lines in its system, including PUBLIC "utility-owned" and PRIVATE "customer-owned" service. Although Manville’s service lines are lead-free and our water is rigorously tested, it’s important to identify any lead in our customers private service lines. Manville is working to inventory our members’ water service lines by October 16, 2024. The inventory is an important step in protecting public health and minimizing the risk of lead entering your drinking water from service pipes and fixtures in your home.

In Texas a state lead ban went into effect on July 1, 1988. If construction occurred after July 1, 1988, your service line is considered non-lead.

Manville technicians and contractors are conducting field inspections  to inventory the service lines through-out our system. Our crews will expose an area of water lines on each side of the meter box and the inspection should not cause any interuption in service to our customer.
